Ghalibaf takes a jab at the US: Will the blockade work?

G‘olibaf AQSHga kinoya qildi: blokada ish beradimi?

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has issued an ironic statement regarding the United States on his social media page. His remarks sparked widespread discussion in a short period.

In his post, Ghalibaf uses the example of hypothetically building two walls across US territory. He notes that if one wall were built from New York to the West Coast and another from Los Angeles to the East Coast, their total length would be 7,755 kilometers.

However, he emphasizes that this figure is still nearly 1,000 kilometers shorter than the total length of Iran's borders. Through this, he sarcastically assesses potential blockade or pressure measures, mocking them by saying, "Good luck with the blockade."

At the end of the post, he also addresses one of the US officials, Pete Hegseth, reminding him of the difference between kilometers and miles: "1 km = 0.62 miles."

Against the backdrop of this statement, the sharp rhetoric between the US and Iran has once again become apparent. According to analysts, such remarks indicate that political tensions and mutual criticism between the two countries are continuing.
