Automotive expert highlights the flaws of Dongfeng 580

Automotive expert Sergey Zinovyev outlined four drawbacks of the Chinese Dongfeng 580 crossover.

According to him, the 1.8-liter engine is a variation of the Toyota 1ZZ-FE, made entirely of aluminum. It tends to consume excess oil and has issues with certain sensors. Additionally, the Punch VT3 CVT in the 1.5-liter version is unreliable and often fails before reaching 50,000 km.

Despite these drawbacks, the base model comes equipped with keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, and a parking assist system. The vehicle's driving performance is considered decent.

Previously, Sergey Zinovyev highlighted the advantages of the Changan CS35 Plus crossover.

He noted that the 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine features direct fuel injection. Most units are equipped with the Aisin TF-73SC hydraulic automatic transmission, which is regarded as highly reliable. According to the expert, this may be one of the best powertrain combinations available.
