Sales of Tesla electric vehicles in Germany continue to decline, reports DW.
This information is reflected in the official report prepared by the Federal Automobile Transport Agency (FTA) in August 2025. This month, only 1,441 Tesla electric vehicles were registered in Germany, which is 39% less than in the same period last year.
At the same time, demand for other electric vehicles remains high: their total sales increased by 45.7% to 39,367. This figure corresponds to one in five newly registered cars. In the market, products from German manufacturers, primarily Volkswagen, continue to dominate.
According to the KBA report, cars imported from China - brands like BYD and MG - are surpassing Tesla, even surpassing it, despite high taxes and tariffs imposed by the European Union.
It was noted that Tesla electric car sales declined significantly across Europe, especially in France and Sweden. This situation is a serious signal for the company, indicating a change in competition and consumer interest in the European market.
According to experts, such trends indicate the need for Tesla to revise its market strategy and adapt it to European consumer demands.
