UzAuto Motors, the national car manufacturer, recorded unprecedented demand for the updated model of the Chevrolet Cobalt. During the online contracting process, which started at 10:00 on November 3, the company sold 100,000 cars in just 2 hours and 26 minutes.
As a new strategy, all sales were conducted exclusively through an online platform. This was implemented to ensure the transparency of the process and to prevent artificial hype.
Analysis of the sales structure showed that almost all vehicles were purchased by individuals. Through the OneID system, individuals signed 99,493 contracts, while the share of legal entities amounted to only 507 contracts.
This once again confirms the high consumer interest in this model. In the very first hour, 53,911 contracts were signed, and by 11:50 their total number exceeded 88,000.
The company's digital infrastructure experienced a heavy load: the UzAvtoSavdo website recorded more than 1,180 new sessions per second during the first hour, and in the first two hours, the number of active sessions exceeded 230,000. At the same time, the company's security service successfully deflected 560 cyberattacks aimed at disrupting the system's operations.
This hype was caused by the upgraded version of the Chevrolet Cobalt (MCM). Production of this model began in mid-October, with more than 50 key components upgraded, including engine control units and brake systems.
In addition, the new version of the car features modern functionalities such as cruise control, a multimedia system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To ensure complete fairness and prevent excessive hype, on October 29, UzAuto Motors announced that contracting would take place only online, closed all dealership centers on the day of sales, and disconnected them from the system.
Buyers must make full payment for the vehicle within 7 days. To increase the transparency of contracts, special QR codes have been added to contracts since October.
Through these codes, buyers can verify contract details in real time, including the buyer's name, price, dealer, and payment status.
