Preliminary analyzes of the mass poisoning of children that occurred in preschool institutions in Tashkent region revealed many shortcomings. It was emphasized that safety standards were violated during the feeding process, and supervision was not adequately ensured.
The children's ombudsman commented on this situation, stating that it is impossible for the culprits not to be held strictly accountable according to the law. It was also noted that it is necessary to organize the work of outsourcing companies in preschools in an open and transparent manner, eliminate corruption risks in contracts, and strengthen constant monitoring and quality control of children's nutrition.
According to the latest information, currently 694 children are being treated in hospitals in Tashkent region. Thirteen of them are in moderate condition. Cases of poisoning have been recorded in a total of seven districts. At the same time, a criminal case has been initiated, and work is underway to identify and punish those responsible.
