An unexpected incident occurred at Secondary School No. 39, located in the Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region - the former director, who headed the educational institution for 15 years, tried to set himself on fire after being fired. The footage of the incident spread rapidly on social networks and caused great controversy among the public.
The Department of Preschool and School Education of Surkhandarya region issued an official statement on the situation. It was reported that the employment contract of Z.A., who had been managing this educational institution since 2010, was terminated on September 16 of this year on the basis of Article 157 of the Labor Code - by agreement of the parties.
According to the department, the dismissed director strongly opposed the new head's appointment and actively resisted on October 13 during the submission of documents for the new director's appointment at the school. Reportedly, he tried to set himself on fire during the incident, escalating the situation, but no one was injured.
According to official information, in accordance with the decision of the Department, E.A. was appointed as the head of the school. The new director has begun his work, and now the educational process is continuing in the usual, stable manner.
We remind you that in recent years, large-scale reforms have been carried out to rotate school principals and update the management system. Despite the fact that disputes and objections have been observed in some regions in this process, officials in the field of education emphasize that all decisions are made on the basis of current legislation.
