Guardiola’s 22 perfectly prepared players...

One of the most prestigious and consistently ambitious teams in England – Manchester City – intends to begin the new season with major goals. Under the leadership of Josep Guardiola, the team will fight to win not only the English Premier League but also the prestigious tournaments like the UEFA Champions League, English media reports.

In addition, “the Citizens” aim to participate successfully in domestic cups – the FA Cup and the League Cup. Coach Guardiola, having drawn necessary conclusions from last season’s failures, has started forming a completely renewed squad.

Over the last six months, Manchester City has added several young and talented players to its ranks. Among them are Abduqodir Husonov, Vitor Reis, Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Juma Ba, Marcus Bettinelli, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Sverre Nypan, Claudio Echeverri, and James Trafford.

It is clear that not all of these new players will immediately join the starting lineup. Some have already been loaned out to other clubs, and this process is expected to continue.

The Club World Cup held in the USA served as both an international test and a chance to evaluate the new players. Organized by FIFA, the tournament became an ideal preparation period during the off-season.

Now the club is planning one more friendly match before the first official game of the new season – an away match against Wolverhampton on August 16.

This match will be held in Italy against Palermo, starting at 00:00 Tashkent time on the night between August 9 and 10.

What matters is that Guardiola included 22 fully prepared players in this game. The presence of Uzbek young talent Abduqodir Husonov brought special joy to fans.

Squad announced for the game in Italy:

Goalkeepers:
Ederson, James Trafford.

Defenders:
Rico Lewis, Abduqodir Husonov, Ruben Dias, Mateus Nunes, Manuel Akanji, John Stones, Nathan Ake, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Nico O’Reilly.

Midfielders:
Nico Gonzalez, Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Divine Mukasa.

Forwards:
Erling Haaland, Omar Marmoush, Oscar Bobb, Savinho, Jeremy Doku.

According to journalist Simon Bajkowski, several players were not included by the coaching staff for the friendly match. James McAtee, Jack Grealish, and Stefan Ortega are expected to leave the team soon and were therefore not listed.

Josko Gvardiol, Rodri, Phil Foden, and Claudio Echeverri are not fully physically prepared to play. Marcus Bettinelli, Mateo Kovacic, and Kalvin Phillips are undergoing injury treatment and cannot yet contribute to the team.

Manchester City fans are eagerly waiting to see how successful the renewed and deepened squad will be in the new season. They hope the club will achieve high results on all fronts.
