The Uzbekistan youth national team played its first match in the qualifying round of the U-23 Asian Cup, which began in Bishkek. Ravshan Haydarov's team faced Sri Lanka on the field and secured a resounding 4-0 victory, securing their first three points in the group.
According to the UFA press service, at the post-match press conference, head coach Ravshan Haydarov shared his thoughts on the match:
"The advantage was on our side throughout the entire match. We didn't lose control of the ball. Of course, the Sri Lankan team defended with considerable determination. However, we still found a way and found a way to the opponent's goal four times. Most importantly, our first victory in the competition and the three points earned through it are of great importance."
Khaydarov also spoke about the team's performance:
"During the game, we acted actively, showed initiative in attack, and created many chances. However, we couldn't convert all of them. At the same time, the Sri Lankan national team worked hard in defense, and their structure was also noteworthy. We respect this opponent's game."
Having started the competition with a resounding victory, the youth team now aims to maintain the same strength and intensity in subsequent matches. For the fans, this achievement undoubtedly brought great joy and confidence in the future.
