Messi Statue Vandalized Again in Argentina

The statue of Lionel Messi in Argentina has once again fallen victim to vandalism. According to the publication Diario Registrado, unknown individuals destroyed the statue installed near a bar in the center of Mar del Plata early Sunday morning.

The statue was found broken into two parts: the head and upper section were discovered lying separately. This is not the first incident involving monuments dedicated to Argentine football players.

Previously, a mural of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in Buenos Aires also suffered damage. The Messi statue had been restored after being vandalized on a prior occasion.
