Enzo Fernandez has announced that he is ready to take on the role of captain for the Argentina national team. Currently, the captain’s armband for the "Albiceleste" is held by Lionel Messi.
"Of course, I dream of being the captain of the Argentina national team, but this is a decision that is not made by me, rather by the coaching staff. I don’t know when this might happen.
Time will tell, and the decision depends on the coaching staff. Without a doubt, it is one of my aspirations.
Being the captain of the national team would be a great honor for me," Fernandez stated in an interview with Give Me Sport. The Argentina national team is set to defend their World Cup title next summer.
It is worth recalling that during the last World Cup, Enzo Fernandez was awarded the prize for the tournament's best young player.
