Mbappe Closing in on Ronaldo's Record

Kylian Mbappe scored a brace to help Real Madrid secure a commanding 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao. The French forward found the net in the 7th minute and again in the 59th minute during Wednesday's La Liga match.

The 26-year-old striker has already scored 56 goals for the "Royal Club" in 2025. According to Madrid Xtra, only Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more goals in a single calendar year in Real Madrid's history, with 58 goals in 2012 and 59 goals in 2013.

Mbappe still has four games left to match or surpass this record. The team's next match will be on Sunday, December 7, under Xabi Alonso, as they host Celta at their home ground.
