Boris Ignatyev Promotes an Active Lifestyle

Former head coach of the Russian national team, Boris Ignatyev, shared his thoughts on the occasion of his 85th birthday. The veteran coach was born on December 5, 1940, in Moscow.

"There’s no secret to a long life. Lead a simple life: go to work, consume alcohol in moderation, and engage in sports.

An active lifestyle is very important. Until I turned 80, I used to play football twice a week at the 'Luzhniki' stadium," Ignatyev said in an interview with "Sovetskiy Sport."

Additionally, Ignatyev is also renowned for winning the 1988 European Championship with the USSR youth team. His last professional role was with Moscow's "Torpedo" team, where he worked in 2013.
