Monaco Misses Opportunity Against Undermanned Brest

Round 14 of the French Championship kicked off with a match between "Brest" and "Monaco". In the first half, the home team performed better in attack.

In the 28th minute, "Brest" fans began celebrating a goal. The tension rose after a throw-in brought the ball into the penalty area.

Goalkeeper Gradeshki saved a strike from the opposition, but Kamory Doumbia headed the ball into the net from the goal area, opening the score. In the second half, "Brest" was reduced to ten men.

Ludovic Ajorque committed a serious foul from behind. The referee initially showed him a yellow card but, after reviewing the incident via the VAR system, upgraded it to a red card.

"Monaco," having the numerical advantage, made efforts to equalize. Sebastien Pocognoli made several substitutions during the game.

Among those who left the field was Aleksandr Golovin, while Paul Pogba was among those who came on. However, in the last 15 minutes of the second half, "Brest" was close to scoring a second goal on the counterattack.

Two home players faced the goalkeeper one-on-one, but "Monaco"’s defender made an impressive save. As time passed, "Monaco" failed to exhibit effectiveness in attack – the visitors had almost no dangerous chances.

As a result, the score remained 1–0. "Brest" secured their third consecutive victory, climbing to ninth place in Ligue 1.

"Monaco," on the other hand, currently sits in seventh place.
