Curaçao national team head coach Dick Advocaat expressed his satisfaction with the draw results for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Curaçao has been placed in Group E alongside Germany, Côte d'Ivoire, and Ecuador.
“This is a fantastic draw for Curaçao. Playing the first match against a major football powerhouse like Germany is, of course, wonderful.
For Curaçao to reach this stage is, in itself, a unique event. We will play against teams from three different continents.
All of them are strong competitors. We will see what the outcome will be.
We are taking everything calmly, but this draw is certainly very good,” Advocaat said in an interview with Channel News Asia. Ranked 82nd in the FIFA standings, Curaçao is the smallest territory to have secured a spot in the World Cup.
