The World Championship for men, being held in Dubai, has entered an intense phase. The fifth day of the competition turned out to be a real test and full of opportunities for the athletes from Uzbekistan. On this day, it was planned for four of our compatriots to step into the ring, and one of them—Akmaljon Isroilov in the -86 kg weight category—gave a remarkable masterclass for the audience.
Isroilov faced Kazakh boxer Daulet Tulemissov and controlled the fight with dominance from start to finish. By the middle of the bout, the Uzbek athlete managed to send his opponent into a knockdown twice. This shifted the dynamics of the fight entirely, further solidifying Isroilov's advantage.
At the end of the match, the judges unanimously declared victory for the Uzbek boxer with a score of 5:0. This result secured his confident progression to the next stage of the tournament, marking a significant step forward for our delegation.
It is worth noting that another highly anticipated duel is on the horizon—celebrated boxer and Olympic champion Hasanboy Dusmatov is set to face Turkish athlete Samet Gumus. This matchup is considered one of the most intriguing clashes of the World Championship.
Each day and every fight in Dubai presents new opportunities and milestones for our athletes. Fans are eagerly awaiting the next round of exciting news.
