Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has put the idea of signing another major star on the agenda. According to Defensa Central, the transfer of midfielder Vitinha has become almost Perez’s main objective. He believes the Portuguese player would significantly strengthen Real’s midfield. At the same time, Real Madrid understand well that prying Vitinha away from PSG is an extremely difficult task. According to the source, in Madrid this deal is seen as comparable in complexity to Luis Figo’s move from Barcelona in 2000.
Real are also not fully convinced that 25-year-old Vitinha’s contract actually includes the €90–100 million release clause mentioned in the media. Reaching an agreement with PSG is expected to be difficult, as the clubs are considered principled rivals on the European stage.
