Russia national team head coach Valery Karpin said which goal scored by the team was the best in the year coming to an end. The specialist singled out the goal scored by Aleksey Miranchuk in the September away match against Qatar. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
According to Karpin, in that episode Miranchuk skillfully kept possession, got out of trouble and passed to Sergeev, who flicked the ball back with his heel. In the end, Miranchuk sent the goalkeeper one way and finished into the other corner, showing his class.
Recall that in that match the Russia national team beat Qatar 4–1 away from home. Due to UEFA and FIFA sanctions, Karpin’s team has been playing only friendlies for nearly four years.
The Russia national team’s next training camp will take place at the end of March. The opponent has not yet been announced.
