Jimmy Cabot Calls Pogba’s Award Unfair

Former France footballer Jimmy Cabot criticized the Globe Soccer Awards organizers. His objection stems from the “Best Comeback” prize being awarded to French midfielder Paul Pogba. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.

Cabot believes Pogba does not deserve the award and that it failed to take into account other players’ comebacks after far tougher ordeals.

As an example, he cited Mathéo Udol: despite suffering four anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) knee injuries, the player returned to Lens’ starting lineup before the winter break. He also recalled Nabil Bentaleb, who was sidelined for several months after cardiac arrest, then returned for Lille and scored the winning goal. Cabot’s comments were quoted by L’Equipe.

Pogba, known for his spells at Juventus and Manchester United, was out of football for 18 months due to doping-related issues. In the summer of 2025 he signed with Monaco and made his first appearance in November.
