Ake says it’s hard for Koeman to call him up without match practice

Manchester City defender Nathan Ake shared details of his conversation with Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
According to Ake, Koeman has said several times that he expects him to play more and stressed that if his minutes on the pitch are limited, it becomes harder to call the player up to the national team. The defender noted that every footballer wants to play as much as possible and added that he will keep fighting.
This season, the 30-year-old has made 13 appearances across all competitions and has yet to register any goal contributions.
As a reminder, the 2026 World Cup will take place next summer in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
