Former CSKA midfielder Igor Korneev compared Spain’s Espanyol to Kaliningrad’s Baltika. This was reported by euro-football.rureported.
In Matchday 18 of La Liga, Espanyol lost 0–2 at home to Barcelona. Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo scored one goal each for the visitors.
According to Korneev, Espanyol are one of the biggest revelations of the current season. He noted that in terms of results they can be compared to Baltika, but not in terms of playing quality.
The expert also added that Espanyol usually need five chances to score one goal, while Barcelona’s forwards often need just a single opportunity.
Despite the defeat, Manolo Gonzalez’s side kept their place in the top five of the league table.
