The first dangerous chances of the match were created by the underdogs: Karim Tunde struck from long range but missed the target slightly. Soon after, Kike Garcia played a neat pass to Caros Romero, but the player failed to take the chance — the ball went wide of the post.
The tension did not drop in the second half. In the 54th minute, Pere Milla’s shot hit a defender, and shortly afterwards Romero opened the scoring with a fine strike — 0:1. Levante responded immediately: Adrian de la Fuente sharpened the attack, and Iker Losada placed the ball into the net — 1:1. Losada came close to scoring again, but his header was just off target.
The match ended 1:1. Levante remain near the bottom of the table, while Espanyol are in fifth place.
