Former Alania coach Rolland Courbis dies

French specialist Rolland Courbis has died at the age of 72. RMC Sport reported this. This is reported by euro-football.ru reports .

During his playing career, Courbis featured as a defender and played for teams such as Marseille, Monaco and Olympiacos. He coached from 1986 to 2016: under his guidance Marseille reached the UEFA Cup final in 1999, Bordeaux lost the League Cup final in 1997, and Ajaccio won the second-division title in 2002.

The specialist also worked abroad. In 2004 he coached Vladikavkaz’s Alania for several months, and in 2013 he won the Algerian Cup and the Arab Champions Cup with USM Alger.

Courbis was also imprisoned twice over fraudulent practices related to transfers.
