Perez reportedly unhappy with Alonso’s working style

Xabi Alonso stepped down as Real Madrid head coach after a 2–3 loss to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final. According to Transfer News Live, journalist Matteo Moretto, citing his sources, said club president Florentino Perez was dissatisfied with Alonso’s playing style and the way training sessions were run. This was reported by euro-football.ru. reports .
Alonso had been in charge since the summer. After parting ways with him, Los Blancos appointed Alvaro Arbeloa as head coach. The 42-year-old will make his first-team debut on 14 January away to Albacete in the Spanish Cup round-of-16 tie.
