Raheem Sterling reacted sharply to journalist's laughter

English footballer Raheem Sterling found himself in an unpleasant situation after his first match for the Dutch club "Feyenoord". In the Eredivisie match against "NAC Breda", which ended in a 3-3 draw, Sterling started in the main squad. During the post-match press conference, a journalist mocked the player for failing to score. This situation angered Sterling. Reports goal.com.
To the journalist's question, "You should have scored, shouldn't you?", Sterling replied in a serious tone. Looking at the journalist, he emphasized: "You shouldn't laugh, my friend! It's just a game, I'm still regaining my form. I had a chance, but I couldn't use it. I will definitely try to score next time." The player admitted that by his standards, he should have scored in such situations.
Sterling, who was substituted in the 64th minute, did not hide that he wanted to stay on the pitch longer. However, he expressed respect for coach Robin van Persie's decision. Although Sterling's debut for "Feyenoord" was criticized, his former teammate Jack Grealish defended him on social media. Grealish emphasized that it is wrong to belittle a player who has not played for a long time and called on fans to be respectful.
Currently, "Feyenoord" is in second place in the league table, but far behind the leader "PSV". After terminating his contract with "Chelsea", Sterling is showing his readiness to prove himself in the Netherlands and respond to critics.
