Bruno Fernandes aims to win the 2026 World Cup with Portugal

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is aiming to win the 2026 World Cup with the Portugal national team. The midfielder believes this trophy would be a fitting reward for Cristiano Ronaldo’s legendary career. This was reported by Goal.com reports.
Fernandes wants the 41-year-old forward’s international career to end at its peak. The tournament, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, is expected to be the five-time Ballon d'Or winner’s last chance in his career.

“I will give everything I have to make my country proud. It would be amazing to win the last World Cup with Cristiano.
It is important not only for Portugal, but also for everything Ronaldo has given to football,” Fernandes said.

Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al-Nassr, has scored 143 goals for the national team, setting a world record. Roberto Martinez’s team will face DR Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia in the group stage of the 2026 tournament.
Speaking about his club future, Manchester United’s management said Fernandes would not be sold. The captain, who provided 18 assists last season, will remain a key figure in the team’s new project.
