Bing released Copilot instead of ChatGPT and Gemini

Microsoft is aggressively promoting Copilot inside Bing when users search for rival AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Gemini, according to a report by WindowsLatest. Reports Rozetked.me.

The report says Bing now displays a large interactive Copilot widget above or alongside normal search results. The box is said to be about five times larger than a standard search link or ad, making it much more visible to users on Windows 11.

Instead of only offering a link, the widget encourages people to try Copilot features directly from the search page. These include tasks like generating images, improving writing, and other AI-assisted actions.

WindowsLatest had previously reported a similar tactic when users searched for Google Chrome. In that case, Bing allegedly covered much of the search page with advertising for Microsoft Edge and highlighted reasons to choose it over Chrome.

The publication suggested that this kind of promotion could confuse users and may even raise antitrust concerns. However, no official case or public accusation against Microsoft has been announced so far.
