Ookla has released a new report on in-flight Wi-Fi speeds. According to it, the internet speed provided by Starlink has even surpassed networks in offices and apartments. Ixbt.com reports on this.
Experts evaluated the internet quality of more than 50 airlines. According to the results, eight airlines with average download speeds exceeding 100 Mbps specifically use the Starlink service.
In half of them, this figure was higher than 300 Mbps.
Ookla representatives noted that no other in-flight Wi-Fi provider has been able to come close to such high speeds. Typically, network speed decreases as the number of users increases, but no such problem was observed with the Starlink system.
Currently, passengers are intentionally searching for flights with Starlink internet. This could leave airlines that do not use this technology behind in the competition.
