Instagram recently introduced a new feature called "Instants". The Meta-owned social network describes this format as being designed for sharing real-time events. However, the mechanism of the feature is unclear to many users, leading to accidental photo sharing. According to Techcrunch.com reports .
The problem is that as soon as you press the camera button, the photo is automatically sent to all users on your "Friends" list. Unless you change the settings to "Close Friends" in advance, the photo is visible to everyone. Although Meta allows you to "undo" an accidentally sent photo, many users find this process complicated and contrary to personal privacy.
If you do not want to use this feature, you can disable it entirely. To do this, go to your profile settings, select the "Content Preferences" menu, and enable the "Hide Instants in Inbox" option. After that, the Instants section will disappear from your inbox.
There is also an option to temporarily hide the feature without disabling it completely. To do this, press and hold the Instants icon in your inbox and swipe right. This allows you to pause the feature temporarily.
