Dispute arises over lease agreement duration between Anthropic and SpaceX

Earlier this month, a major agreement on computing power was signed between xAI and Anthropic. It stipulates monthly payments of billions of dollars for exclusive access to Anthropic's Colossus cluster. This deal was seen as a revenue source for xAI and an opportunity for Anthropic to lead in the AI race. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .

However, Elon Musk attempted to clarify the situation on the X platform, stating that SpaceX is not tied to this agreement long-term. According to Musk, it is a 180-day lease that can be canceled with a 90-day notice. He noted that the short-term agreement was made at the request of SpaceX, not Anthropic, as they may need the computing power themselves in the future.

Musk's statement contradicts official S-1 documents filed by SpaceX. Page F-62 of the document clearly states that Anthropic agreed to make monthly payments until May 2029, implying a three-year term. The document also repeatedly mentions that the client will pay $1.25 billion per month.

So far, xAI has not provided an official comment on this discrepancy. Although the contract terms include a 90-day cancellation notice for both parties, the gap between Musk's public statement and official financial documents is raising questions among investors.

Experts note that such misinformation ahead of a public offering could lead to legal issues. While it is unlikely that the SEC will take strict measures against Elon Musk, this situation could impact the company's reputation.
