According to the National Statistics Committee, from January to May 2025, 71.4 thousand Uzbeks traveled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for tourism purposes. This figure shows an increase of 15.7 thousand people, or 28.2%, compared to the same period last year.
Growing Interest in Tourism: Main Purposes of Travel
In the first five months of this year, Uzbeks visiting the UAE mostly traveled for tourism, visiting relatives, business purposes, medical treatment, and education. 63,042 people traveled for tourism, while 7,397 traveled to visit relatives. Interestingly, 571 people went to the UAE for business purposes. 225 and 117 Uzbeks traveled to the UAE for medical treatment and education, respectively.
New Opportunities and the Tourism Market
The increase in the number of Uzbeks visiting the UAE and the attention to the tourism industry points to the strengthening of trade, service, and cultural relations between the countries. This can become a new source of opportunities and profit, as well as contribute to strengthening cooperation in tourism between the two countries.
