In Uzbekistan, during August, a total of 4.1 billion soums of compensation funds were allocated to needy families for electricity and natural gas payments. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
According to the information, these funds were directed to cover payments for electricity and gas consumed beyond the established norms. In accordance with the President’s decree, the difference between the basic norm and the increased tariffs for consumption exceeding 150 kWh of electricity and 150 cubic meters of natural gas is covered by the state.
Based on applications received in August, compensation was assigned to 222,887 families. At the same time, more than 1 million 711 thousand needy families applied for compensation under the general procedure.
In the reporting month, 3.6 billion soums of the allocated funds were directed to electricity payments, and 552.7 million soums to natural gas payments. This indicator represents the next share within the 17.3 billion soums of compensation paid to 350.6 thousand families during the May–August period.
The Ministry of Energy noted that in July, 278.1 thousand families received 5.8 billion soums, which is 71.3 thousand families more compared to June.
It should be recalled that from June 1, applications for compensation for gas and electricity expenses for needy families began to be accepted. According to the new procedure, these payments are made not only in winter months but every month throughout the year.
