Uzbekistan and Serbia have elevated their strategic partnership to a new level
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić. During the meeting, the sides discussed further development of economic, investment, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

The negotiations focused on preparing joint programs to increase trade turnover and cooperation in mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, chemical industry, information technology, agro-industrial complex, and tourism. The importance of developing new transport corridors in the “Central Asia – Balkans” direction was also emphasized.

The Presidents signed a Joint Declaration and agreed to hold the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tashkent in 2026. The talks also covered prospects for cooperation in labor migration, education, science, culture, and sports.

At the end of the meeting, a package of bilateral documents was signed. In particular, agreements and memorandums were signed on mutual promotion and protection of investments, economic cooperation, medical services, tourism, education, artificial intelligence, diplomatic personnel training, labor migration, and sports.
