Fines and imprisonment have been imposed for unauthorized folk medicine

From now on, citizens and officials who engage in folk medicine, diagnose it, or provide treatment services without the appropriate permit will be held liable. Penalties have also been established for those who promote such activities in public.

According to the amendments made to Article 5915 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility:

  • 15-20 times for citizens,
  • For officials, a fine of 20-25 times the basic calculated value is established.

If a case of obtaining material benefits through the services of folk medicine without permission is revealed, a fine of the same amount will be applied.

Also, if this violation is repeated within a year, a fine of 20-30 times or administrative arrest for up to 15 days may be imposed.

Officials emphasized that these measures are aimed at protecting citizens' health and preventing fraudulent "medical" activities.
