The air temperature in Tashkent has reached dangerous levels again. Atmospheric air monitoring stations in the city recorded very alarming indicators on the evening of November 16. According to the data, the amount of PM10 particles was 1.2 times higher than the norm, and the most dangerous PM2.5 particles exceeded the norm by almost 3.5 times. Such particles are known to easily enter the respiratory tract and pose a serious health risk.
According to UzHydromet specialists, the main reason for this situation is the occurrence of inversion in the atmospheric layer as a result of a sharp temperature change. During inversion, air circulation slows down, and small particles remain close to the Earth's surface. As a result, the level of pollution in the city grows rapidly, and the air quality deteriorates even more, especially in the evening and morning.
According to experts' forecasts, such conditions may last for several days. Therefore, the population is recommended to limit walking as long as possible, not to spend excessive time on the streets, and to strengthen precautions, especially for children, the elderly, and people with respiratory diseases.
