On January 10, 2026, a commercial-scale natural gas flow was detected in exploration well No. 2 Shagirlik-Lower Jura, located near the “Moynoq” field in the Ustyurt region. The well was drilled to a depth of 5,265 meters, and natural gas formations were found between 5,061 and 5,265 meters.
These exploration works are being carried out by “Uzbekgeofizika” JSC and the State Institution “Institute of Geology and Exploration of Oil and Gas Fields.” In the near future, drilling of exploration wells No. 3 and No. 4 is planned in the field.
The discovered natural gas flow will increase the energy potential of the region and make a significant contribution to the development of the oil and gas complex. At the same time, exploration and drilling works are carried out in accordance with high professional standards and safety regulations.
