A powerful explosion occurred in the Kirzhach district of the Vladimir region of Russia. According to local residents, after the explosion, strong booms were heard around the facility and fragments of ammunition were scattered within a radius of approximately 5 kilometers.

Currently, the local administration has completely closed the roads leading to the city of Kirzhach from Moscow. The evacuation of residents of the villages of Barsovo and Mirny to safer areas has also begun.

Vladimir Region Governor Alexander Avdeev also reported on the incident and confirmed that an explosion had occurred. However, he did not provide specific information about the location of the explosion, which is an ammunition depot.

According to local media reports, residents are being evacuated from the villages of Zvezdny, Dubki, Pershino, as well as Khrapki, Gribanovo and Melezhi. The evacuated citizens are being temporarily accommodated in secondary schools in the city of Kirzhach.

Later, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that the cause of the explosion was non-compliance with safety regulations.
