German troop presence in Ukraine deemed pointless

Deploying German troops to Ukraine without U.S. involvement makes little sense, Bavarian Prime Minister and CSU leader Markus Zeder told ARD in an interview.

According to him, no decision on Ukraine will involve NATO soldiers under any circumstances. “In my view, this issue is not on the table, because NATO forces definitely will not be included,” he said.

Earlier, U.S. Vice President JD Vance said that the keys to a peace settlement are security guarantees for Ukraine and setting territorial parameters of the conflict. He noted that resolving these issues could open the door to an agreement.
