The death toll from the 6.9 magnitude earthquake in the Philippines has risen to 30, according to ABS-CBN News. According to official data, 37 citizens were injured to varying degrees.
According to the Emergency Response Center, the bodies of the deceased are being transported to the Bogo City Hospital in Cebu Province. After the incident, the state of emergency was tightened in the country.
According to reports, the earthquake caused the collapse of a sports and recreation complex in the municipality of San Remigio. Some of the local population is said to be trapped under the rubble. Currently, large-scale search and evacuation operations are being carried out by rescuers.
Experts note that this earthquake was one of the strongest tremors observed in the region in recent years. The government expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and assured that the victims would receive the necessary medical and material assistance.
