Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for an immediate cessation of hostilities to prevent the situation in the Middle East from spiraling out of control and the conflict from spreading to other countries. At a briefing in Beijing, the diplomat emphasized that there is no solution to this problem through the use of force, and that, on the contrary, armed clashes generate new hatred and further complicate the situation. Wang Yi noted the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries in the region, including Iran. According to him, the use of force is not a sign of greatness, and innocent people should not become victims of war. "The strong are not always right, and the world must not return to the law of the jungle," the minister said. He also added that the peoples of the region should determine their own destiny, and that interference by external forces in internal affairs and attempts to incite "color revolutions" will never be supported.
The diplomat called on all parties to return to the negotiating table and resolve differences through equal dialogue. The Chinese side expressed its readiness to cooperate in implementing the global security initiative to return the Middle East to normal life and ensure stability in the region. Recall that on February 28, 2025, the US and Israel launched missile strikes on Iranian territory, eliminating Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran attacked Israel and American bases in the Persian Gulf, closing the Strait of Hormuz, which is vital for oil transport.
