The oldest person in the world was found in Brazil

From a nursing home in Brazil, the oldest person on the planet was accidentally discovered. At 118 years old, Luis Carlos dos Santos moves independently and has a habit of drinking coffee several times a day.
The organization RankBrasil carefully checked his documents and confirmed his age. Luis Carlos dos Santos was born on February 15, 1908, in the city of Eloi-Mendes, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He worked as a farmer and lived a simple village life. Luis never married and had no children.
Since September 10, 1971, he has been living in the nursing home. A priest from Tres-Pontas brought him there.
For more than half a century, he has become a symbolic figure for the staff and residents of the institution. His age was confirmed through an updated birth certificate, work record, and personal medical documents. After document verification, RankBrasil began the process of officially recognizing him as the oldest living person in the world. Previously, this title belonged to 116-year-old Ethel Caterham from the UK.
At 118 years old, Luis still walks independently, eats on his own, and does not take medicine regularly. He follows a strict daily routine, drinks coffee three times a day, and consumes everything in small amounts. He also has not given up the habit of smoking handmade cigarettes.
Staff members note that he enjoys peace and solitude, not asking for help from others. Luis spends a lot of time in the yard, and the “stone path” he builds and dismantles every day has become a symbol of his daily life.
