“They say I’m arrogant, but in reality…” — Nodira Mahmudova speaks openly

Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Nodira Mahmudova shared her thoughts on various opinions about herself in an interview for the program “O‘zimizning gap.”

According to the artist, many people, judging by her appearance, consider her dignified, somewhat aloof, and even slightly arrogant. However, she especially emphasized that such an impression is not created intentionally.

“This is in our genes. We do not do this on purpose. My mother and the five girls in our family — we are all like this. In our family, all the girls are tall, only I am a bit shorter. Our skeletal structure, the way we hold our neck, the position of our head — all of it is innate. It is difficult to create this artificially; it may take years,” she says.

According to the actress, such opinions were often expressed even about her mother. She herself has also frequently heard phrases like “you can’t approach this girl” and “she acts too proud.”

Despite this, Nodira Mahmudova says that in reality they are very simple and open-hearted people:

“Anyone who talks with us can easily continue the conversation. We are very simple, open, and we easily get along with everyone.”

She also revealed another of her habits. According to her, when walking outside, she does not pay much attention to people around her. Because of this, some acquaintances may have been upset, thinking she did not greet them.

“In reality, I just don’t notice them. People who know me come up and greet me themselves. Sometimes even after a long conversation, I cannot say what kind of earrings my interlocutor was wearing. Because I don’t pay attention to small details,” the artist said sincerely.
