A very tragic and alarming traffic incident occurred in the city of Margilan. According to Kun.uz, on May 10, a 2.5-year-old boy, Abubakr Akramjonov, who was playing in an alley between apartment buildings, was run over by a Gentra car driven by a 55-year-old local woman.
Surveillance camera footage shows that although the vehicle was moving very slowly, the driver ran over the child with complete indifference. The front wheel of the car ran over the boy’s chest, and the rear wheel passed over his pelvic area. The most shocking part is that the driver did not hear the child’s screams and calmly left the scene as if nothing had happened.
“My grandson’s pelvic bones were fractured in three places. He spent a month bedridden. Even now, he hasn't recovered. Doctors said it might take six months for him to get better, but no one guarantees a full recovery,” said the grieving grandmother.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and preliminary investigative actions are underway by the authorities.
Experts emphasize that to prevent such accidents, protective barriers and warning signs should be installed near residential internal roads and children's playgrounds. This is important not only for children’s safety but also for increasing driver responsibility. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
