2.6 Billion Sums Worth of Electricity Stolen in Samarkand
A case of illegal electricity use has been identified in Samarkand. During a control operation conducted jointly by the Samarkand regional department of "Uzenergoinspeksiya" and law enforcement agencies, it was discovered that an irrigation system belonging to the "S.Y.K" enterprise was unauthorizedly connected to the power grid.

During the inspection, it was revealed that the violation had been committed by the enterprise, and as a result, the electricity supply company suffered significant material damage. According to preliminary calculations, the amount of damage is estimated at 2 billion 601 million sums.

Currently, a pre-investigation check is being conducted by law enforcement agencies regarding this case. The issue is under supervision, and after the guilty parties are identified, legal measures are expected to be taken.

Illegal use of energy resources not only seriously harms the country’s economy but also threatens the stability of the overall electricity supply system. Therefore, “Uzenergoinspeksiya” has announced that it will strengthen its efforts to combat such cases.
