According to the press service of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, a case of theft of liquefied gas was detected in the Kookdala district of Kashkadarya region. A special prompt operation was conducted in cooperation with employees of the district branch of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office and representatives of the State Security Service.
During the operation, the head of “A.G.S.” LLC and his criminal accomplice were detained. It was revealed that they had been engaged in stealing liquefied gas intended to be sold to the population and social institutions at preferential prices.
According to law enforcement agencies, 10,360 kilograms of liquefied gas were stolen as it was being loaded onto a “KamAZ” fuel tanker truck. The total value of this gas amounts to 76.5 million soums.
In addition, 35 million soums and 2,000 US dollars in cash were seized from the criminals as material evidence. A criminal case has been initiated under the article “Theft by appropriation or embezzlement” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At present, investigative actions are ongoing.
