Paid Parking for Residents to Be Introduced in Tashkent

Paid parking for residents to be introduced in Tashkent

Important changes are being introduced to the rules for using paid parking spaces in Tashkent. Special parking permits will now be implemented for residents, i.e., citizens permanently residing in designated areas. This has been outlined in a decree signed by Shavkat Umrzakov.

The decree, officially announced on December 25, 2025, stipulates that up to two resident parking permits can be registered per residential address. This limitation aims to maintain order in parking areas and prevent excessive congestion.

Under the new regulation, residents will be able to park for free during the hours of 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. During daytime hours, however, parking fees will apply based on established tariffs.

The permit will be issued for a period of one year. The annual cost of a resident parking permit will be equivalent to one BHM (base calculation value), which currently amounts to 412,000 soums. This fee will provide citizens with a legal and guaranteed parking space near their residence.

It has been reported that this decree will officially come into effect on February 1, 2026. From that date, the resident parking system will be fully operational in Tashkent for paid parking spaces.

The new regulations are expected to help regulate traffic flow in the capital, create convenience for residents, and ensure efficient use of parking spaces. Observers and drivers have assessed these changes as another practical step in the development of city life.
