According to court documents, it was established that a mother-in-law living in Chiroqchi district systematically insulted, repeatedly beat, evicted from the house, and exerted psychological pressure on her daughter-in-law from 2022 to October 2025.
She even restricted her daughter-in-law from meeting her parents and prevented her from using her phone. In some instances, it was found that she dragged her by the hair into the street and inflicted bodily injuries by hitting her face and various parts of her body.
On October 2, 2025, unable to endure the continuous physical and psychological pressure exerted by her mother-in-law, the daughter-in-law committed suicide in the livestock shed of their home.
In court, the mother-in-law partially admitted to some incidents, stating that she had scolded her daughter-in-law for educational purposes and had beaten her at times. She also asked the court for leniency, mentioning that she is raising three grandchildren. However, as justice is inevitable, the cruel mother-in-law was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
