These days, Uzbekistan’s national team is holding a training camp in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The camp is notable for being organized more as a selection and assessment process than a typical “pre-season camp.”
During the camp, the coaching staff plans to closely evaluate the capabilities of players considered for the national team, while also monitoring each player’s physical readiness and overall condition. In short, everyone’s form will be checked on the spot.
It is noted that this camp was arranged according to a pre-approved plan, in addition to official matches during the FIFA international window. Therefore, the focus is not on chasing results, but on assessing players, improving chemistry, and testing tactical ideas in practice.
For this reason, the national team’s matches on January 26 against China and on January 30 against Armenia’s Urartu club will be played as training fixtures. According to the UFA, the games will be held behind closed doors.
So the key message for fans is this: the Dubai camp serves as a “filter” for the squad and match fitness. More than the result, the main point is who can prove themselves.
