Experienced basketball coach Svetislav Pesic has announced that he will step down from his position at Bayern at the end of the current season. The 76-year-old specialist emphasized that his decision is final and cannot be changed by anyone, including the club's management. This was reported by Goal.com .
Before concluding his tenure, Pesic will lead Bayern in one final championship push during the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) playoffs. He took charge of the team last December, replacing Gordon Herbert.
According to the coach, the sports world has changed over the years, and the influence of coaches is no longer what it once was. He noted that high-level sports have become increasingly tied to business and show business.
Nevertheless, Pesic does not intend to part ways with Bayern entirely. He revealed that he has held discussions with club president Herbert Hainer regarding a new future role and intends to remain within the club's structure.
