A large fine imposed on a company that damaged the power grid in Khorezm

A company operating inefficiently in terms of electricity usage was exposed in the Khorezm region. During a scheduled inspection carried out by the regional department of "Uzenergoinspeksiya", a serious violation was discovered at the private company "Urganch Parranda Invest" located in Urganch district.

It was reported that the company had been using electricity inappropriately by not compensating for reactive power, i.e., creating an excessive load on the power grid. This situation, in violation of legal requirements, negatively affected the efficiency of the overall electric grid.

Based on this, in accordance with Article 45 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 940, calculations were conducted and, as a result, a financial sanction in the amount of 41.7 million soums was imposed.

For reference: violating the procedure of organizing reactive power compensation or completely failing to comply with it results in a fine amounting to 50% of the value of the wasted electricity as determined by equipment or normative methods. This can lead not only to financial losses but also pose risks to other enterprises and the population connected to the grid.
